These were a tasty tin over some thin triscuits and on their own. They had a meaty, somewhat dry texture that did not fall apart too much when picked up by my chopsticks. There was a slight bitterness in the first few bites but that seemed to dissipate as I went along. The spine was more noticeable in these in smaller bites but when eating the fish as a whole pieces, there was no noticeable crunch.

I would definitely buy these again, for larger sardines the taste and texture was great, reminds me a bit of the Ortiz which are much more expensive. I think they are worth the price and now can’t wait to try the spiced variety.

3 large fish, the olive oil is very light in consistency almost watery. Honestly surprised by the experience and think it could just be a bad tin but genuinely not a fan. These were grainy and overall .. gross. Unfortunately, had to toss the can ????

Great texture, slightly firm and flakey, not dry. Flavor is delicate and not overly fishy. Some scales but they weren’t tough or noticable in the bite. Great cheap Portuguese sardine. Could have used a pinch more salt

an ok tin. at $5.00 it was a a good price, comparable to Nuri or Bela. On the meatier side. The fish had nice olive oil, but I think I was expecting a better taste so I was let down a little.

A decent tin for daily driver purposes. Cracking the tin presented a mild aroma and presented three large pichards. The fish were firm and neutral tasting. Wound up placing a little hot sauce on them to jazz it up a bit. Overall I prefer the AP spicy version over this tin – it was good but not spectacular.

This tin was decent, certainly a good staple but not very exciting. You have to really dress it up to get anywhere. Not my favorite.

Quite tasty. These are big meaty bois with a more tender texture than most. They’re definitely worth a premium over the cheaper cans. I enjoyed these over spring mix greens with some shichimi togarashi and the oil from the can. I’d probably get spicy next time.

Large fish, just three to the whole can. The least mushy pilchards I have come across, firm meat, holds together well with a pleasant flaky texture. A few scales don’t take anything away from the experience, one of the fish even had an intact whole liver, the largest in a can of sardines I’ve eaten. It’s a wonderful, creamy surprise biting into it. Strong spines and mild fish and oil flavors make for a well-rounded beginning, middle and finishing flavor.

    Scrumptious
