Solid offering with above average texture and moisture (no hiccups!), but could use a little more seasoning and flavor depth. It generally profiles as canned tuna to me and lacks the rich fattiness that I long for in mackerel tins. As a result, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend eating straight from the tin as I did, but it is still a half step up from average in this category. As Dan says in the description above, it would be certainly work well as a component of a larger dish / recipe.
If you are a fan of the unflavored Matiz & Briosa mackerel tins, then you’ll definitely enjoy this one as well. While I personally prefer Patagonia, Cole’s, Ocean’s mackerel tins over this in flavor / texture / moisture, I still walked away satisfied and eager to try more Ati Manel.
