Luscious is the word that springs to mind whenever we think of cod liver. Fatty, unctuous, rich, decadent. This preparation involves more than just the lightly Beechwood smoked livers in the naturally released oil, this tin has the livers in a blend of tomato and spices and one of our favorite peppers, Piment d’Espelette (we sell the powder, and a sardine, and our own homemade tamari peanuts), the ubiquitous and singular pepper of the Basque region.
