I used this tin to up my tuna salad game. It was an excellent replacement for the grocery store tuna. the tuna was firm and the tomato basil added a great flavor. I would repurchase this.

This was not at all what I was expecting! I miss the pictures of inside the tin so I wouldn’t have been so surprised when I opened this tin. I was expecting a bit of tomato and some basil pieces but what is inside is more of a thick tomato sauce. It looked a bit gloopy and greasy but I decided to continue ahead with my original plan of making a tuna melt. Once I added a small bit of mayo, it became more liquidy and honestly turned into a mess when I added it to the bread to make the sandwich. It dripped out the sides and wasn’t easy to eat. Maybe I’m just not a good sandwich maker… Not sure.

I had to eat it with a fork and knife and my impression of the flavor was meh. It was okay. I couldn’t really tell it had any additional flavor of tomato or basil. It was also quite greasy and it left a fishy aftertaste. Some positive things were: The texture of the fish was nice and it was a good amount of fish for my appetite. The box art also is attractive.

Overall though, I wouldn’t buy this tin again. It was fine, not great but also not terrible, but it just wasn’t delicious or exciting enough for me to want to eat again.
