Espinaler Razor Clams (Trimmed) 4/6 Classic Line

Dan has never met the tinned fishy he didn’t like, but razor clams hold a special place in his cupboard, right next to the crackers. If these are out of stock, blame it on our “quality control” tester’s midnight diligence.

Ingredients: Razor clams, water and salt.

WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm —

Espinaler began as a small tavern in Barcelona in 1896. Over time, they grew  beyond simply serving these delicacies to sourcing their own seafood in Galicia.

Espinaler makes selections at the peak of each season and hand packs tins to ensure the utmost care is taken. These selections will transport you to the Galician coast. Add a glass of vermouth, and you’ll be back at the very
beginning in Taverna Espinaler.

If you’re wondering if this is the company featured in that one episode of that one Bourdain show, it is.

These are a clam-lover’s tin for sure! Salty brine and great clam flavor. Ate straight from the tin, but next time, definitely making some linguini with garlic and crushed pepper.

This may not have been the prettiest tin of razor clams but damn were they tasty. Sautéed these with olive oil, garlic and parsley and they were a big hit. A bit of grit to the clams but that didn’t turn anyone off. I do think I will invest in a slightly higher quality tin but at this price it’s a great entry way to the world of razor clams.

Ate with espinaler sauce on crackers. Delicious. Just right firm clam texture. Didn’t notice any grit, but that could have been due to the crackers. I don’t see a need to go up to a more expensive tin of razors.
