The hits just keep on coming! These are not pizza anchovies. These are whole anchovies, no heads, in lemon and herbs, and boy are they tasty.

They have that firm bite that anchovies like this normally do, but the lemon, garlic, and parsley oil really elevate the flavor. The oil was so good I got a tin of sardines in oil and dunked them into this and was well rewarded for the effort.

Anyway this is a great tin, and a steal for the price, WOW!

Good quality, good flavor, small tin. For me, these are a half step down from the Patagonia roasted garlic anchovies and a full step down from the Olasagasti Anchovies a la Basque (which are my favorite).

The anchovies were beautiful and intact. They were slightly dry (as expected with this style) but not so much so that it detracted from the overall experience. I didn’t get a ton of garlic flavor but there was more of a lemon background note than most tins that claim lemon. It was nice to have a few half slices of lemon and several garlic pieces in the tin, although they had given up all of their flavor already.

If you’re only going to try one tin of anchovies that aren’t salt-cured, I’d recommend Olasagasti Anchovies a la Basque over these. But this tin is still a pretty good option if you’re wanting to spend a little less money in order to give the genre a try.

Up till now I’ve only ever had salt cured anchovies as a seasoning. These are not those. They are processed like sardines in a garlic/lemon/parsley oil.

I really need to try more anchovies processed this way. They were different from any sardine I’ve had. They were more firm and less oily. They aren’t salty but still have the delicious umami flavor anchovies are known for. Honestly, this could be my favorite tin of fish yet. The marinade and anchovy flavor merged perfectly.

I plan on checking out some other anchovies in my next order but there will certainly be a tin of these in there as well.

These were unlike any other anchovies I’ve had – as mentioned in the description, they are processed like sardines, and not like pizza anchovies. However, this is hands down the best anchovy product I’ve ever tasted. The anchovies were incredibly fresh and were perfectly balanced by citrusy flavors in the marinade. I highly recommend using these anchovies in your next pasta dish, on pizza, or as a topping on your crostini, they will add an amazing depth of flavor and an umami touch.

These are not your normal, salt-cured anchovies. At first glance, these six fish looked like small sardines, but they were slimmer fish. It appears that these are prepared in the same manner as the Ferrigno La Bonne Mer Fisherman’s Sardines. With a good scent of fish and garlic. These also came out very easily as they are a looser pack, and the oil was more of a vinaigrette with lots of garlic, parsley and lemon and provided a fantastic dipping sauce for the fish. I was surprised at how mild tasting these were. Nothing at all like the usual salted & fermented anchovy fillets. Stronger than your typical tuna, but much milder than sardines. These would be an excellent way to introduce new folks to the tinned fish realm. If you’ve only ever had the standard salt cured anchovies, you really should try these.

These were fantastic! Lots of pretty silvery anchovies stuffed on top of a lemon wedge and minced garlic/parsley. I ate them with a baguette, pickled red onions and cornichons and found myself just eating the anchovies on their own. No off putting fishy flavors and great texture. I do wish the tin was a bit bigger but I do think I prefer these over the Patagonia anchovies. I would also be curious what this tin is like heated up!

Holy cow, if there was a can I could eat day after day this might be it. This was my first try of anchovies that weren’t salt cured and I was blown away. These and the Patagonia lemon olive anchovies are probably two of my favorite cans of anchovies. Don’t hesitate adding these to the cart!

Tasty anchovies in a lemon-forward sauce with garlic and parsley as secondary notes. I really enjoyed the sardine version of these, so I thought it’d be fun to try the anchovies in this style. I prefer the sardine version overall for texture. I like the large, meaty fish more than these smaller and slightly drier anchovies. Regardless, happy I gave them a chance!

So delicious! Big chunk of lemon in the tin- and brothy oil- yum. Right up there with the Patagonia anchovies. These will probably be a more of a treat tin, because of the small quantity for the same price, but will definitely get these again and try the other Ferrigno flavors.

These were quite tasty. I’ve never had an anchovy treated like a sardine, so it was neat to experience. Taste wise it’s quite similar to sardines with mild fishy flavor and none of the usual salt/oil anchovy thing. It has a similar texture as well with firm flesh and the fish staying together as it’s pulled from the tin, but they’re longer and even more narrow than most sprats. The lemon/parsley flavor is great but pretty subtle.

These were pretty good, the lemon really comes through. Pretty similar taste to sardines. Detected a slight bitterness but in no way off putting. Wish the can was larger, these went down quick

These are so good, I just purchased nine more tins. The lemon is intense, but I like lemon with my fish. The anchovies are firm , not fishy, sweet.

These have quickly become one of my favorite tins. Mild and tasty anchovies in a delicious sauce. These aren’t the salty fishes you think of with most anchovies. Fish were in beautiful shape. Very well balanced with no single flavor dominating. Bright lemon and rich garlic with a fresh note from the parsley. These don’t need any accompaniment to enjoy, but are great with a bagel and cream cheese. TIP – Turn these over on a plate or bowl so all the sauce coats each fish perfectly.
