Oooo! La la! These French fish were fantastic. Five fabulous French sardines packed in a delicious tapenade with black olives and capers.

Savory, salty, delicious. I took one bite and went right back for more. These were my favorite Ferrigno sardines I’ve had so far, and as soon as they’re back in stock, they’re going back in my pantry.

Make sure you get notified when RTG has them back in stock, and dive right in. Once again, these Ferrigno French fish are proving to be a huge hit! Go getcha some!

I really like these alot, straight from the tin they were great, the Tapenade is flavorful and complements the sardines very well. I tried them on some crusty bread with mashed figs and fresh tomato slices and (unsurprisingly in hindsight) the olive overpowered the figs.
I really like how they treated these in the can, good firm fish, ample Tapenade and I look very forward to sampling some of the brands other offerings.

Pro: The tapenade is legit and you’ll want to eat every last bit of it.
Con: You have to count ALL of the calories from the nutrition label.

The tin was an *easy* 4.25 out of 5 stars, quality fish with good texture and very few scales (but nothing to be worried about). Felt like they really put as many sardines in as they could fit. So much tapenade in the tin that there was plenty to go around for every single bite, plus it was thick enough to be able to manipulate onto the fish with chopsticks. I thought the sauce was less olive-forward than some other tapenades I’ve had but still a 4.5 star sauce. I couldn’t help myself getting a spoon to get every last bit out and pop it on a few crackers.

If you love King Oscar mediterranean sardines and/or olive tapenades, you’ll love this. If the tapenade was sliiiightly chunkier, saltier, olive .. ier(?) then it’d be an easy 5 star tin for me. As it stands, it’s still something I might add to every second or third order – a truly excellent tin worth trying.

If you like delicious great quality sardines and black olives then get these. The capers are largely lost so I would say these are sardines with a black olive spread. That’s not a bad thing and I loved these. If you love black olives and sardines then you really need to get these.

These were fantastic. The quality of the fish was excellent. The tapenade was flavorful, just the right balance of salty & savory. I was surprised at the amount of tapenade in the tin. There was enough to spread on my bread while eating.

I should note that I am not an unbiased reviewer here. Olive tapenade is high on my list of favorite flavors. The tapenade flavor met my expectations beautifully and even included delicious, high quality sardines as a bonus.

These are well deserving of their popularity. Pick them up if you like olive tapenade like I do.

The dines were packed very tightly and broke up a little bit upon removal from the tin. The fish itself was good quality but I was not a big fan of the tapenade. I normally like olives and brine-y flavors but there was an earthiness to the tapenade that was not to my taste. Definitely a unique can worth a try, but will not be a repeat purchase for me.

These were good, the fish were firm, yet tasty, the oil was excellent, and the tapenade had good flavor, was excellent on a cracker after the fish were gone.

I could smell the tapenade when I opened this can and some of it was resting on top of the four fat fish inside. The tapenade is more of a finely ground paste, than the chopped variety you would make at home or buy in a jar, but it has a really good flavor and the olives and herbs paired really well with the fish. The oil itself is sunflower, thin, and light, but ample enough given the flavors from the tapenade. Initially, I was thinking that the different flavored Ferrigno tins would be a bit gimmicky, but so far, they seem to strike a good balance and compliment the fish. I scooped some of the oil and olive mixture onto a piece of toast to round out this breakfast snack. I also this tin could be made into a quick pâté or spread for appetizers.

First time I have had sardines in tapenade and it was delicious. These sardines were in an order I asked Dan to pick out and it is the first tin I ate from the order. I cannot wait to sample more! This particular tin contained 3 sardines but they were large and filled the whole can. The fish flavor and texture was top notch. Thank you Dan!

The sardines themselves had good flavor and a pleasant, medium-firm texture. The tapenade soaked up all the oil in the can, and was very rich and flavorful. This is tin would probably be better served on some bread than eaten right out of the tin.

Notably, the fish in my particular tin were extremely scaly, perhaps the most I’ve ever encountered. The other reviewers don’t seem to mention this, and it wasn’t the case for the other can of Ferrigno sardines I had. Could be a fluke.

I am obsessed with these, a perfect meal in a can. I can eat these straight, with crackers, or just dump the whole can right onto a nice baguette. Really meaty luscious fish and the tapenade adds a nice creamy component with a little acidity. Worth licking the plate clean.

Three large fish in abundant Tapenade…very fresh looking, beautiful undamaged fish…they were still swimming!…
The fish has an Excellent flavor and is perfectly done with a great firm texture, including some noticeable but very soft bones which I love…the tapenade is delicious with a distinctly Mediterranean style seasoning and olive umami…salt level is perfect…everything works together…excellent on toasted garlic bread…use the bread to get every last bit of that delicious tapenade…a very satisfying tin…
Had with Nina’s Cucumber & Seaweed Salad and glasses of the leftover Treveri Brut…what an excellent snack…

I was a bit nervous to try this, due to the mention of anchovy and capers. My last attempt at anchovies was a tad… salty. Like, really REALLY salty. This was nothing like that. The tapenade was a thick smooth paste that was very mellow, very earthy, and only a little salty. Paired with the three fat sardines, it struck a very nice balance. We ate it on some toasted baguette and thin Triscuits, with black olives and cornichons on the side. My wife cleaned out every last drop of the tapenade with a bit of bread and declared it to be awesome.

I was expecting the tapenade to overpower the flavor of the sardines (not that that would be the worst thing since I do love anchovies and olives) but was pleasantly surprised that it did not overpower at all but complimented the fish very well. It imparted just a bit of saltiness and extra layer of umami to the fish. I enjoyed it simply, tapenade spread on a piece of toast with the fish on top.

My one complaint was that my tin was very loosely packed, not at all like the images or as some other reviewers mentioned, so maybe it was a one off… but small loosely packed sardines and a good amount of oil. As mentioned the overall taste and quality was very good though. Based on that this would be a 3.75/5 for me.

These on a warm piece of toast were just a chef’s kiss. I never knew tapenade on sardines would go so well!
