Wow, easy 5 stars. A gem that is EXACTLY what you want it to be. A perfect harmony of rich, rich flavors – none of them overwhelming and all of them complementing each other. I forgot that there was actually a sausage in the tin, so it was like an added gift when I found it hiding under a sardine!

Depth of flavor was unreal, you get all of the essence of liver/pork while still very clearly enjoying that you are eating sardines. Sardine texture was perfect, 3 (or was it 4?) large fish that weren’t dry in any way and had a great balance of firm/soft. If I’d warmed it up a little, it could have been *even better* but honestly, the room temp, out of the can experience was … amazing. If you warmed this up and put it on toasty warm bread, your head just might explode.

Strongly, STRONGLY recommending that you buy these if you already found your way to this review. Don’t be scared off by the meats, this union was *meant to be* and the liver isn’t overpowering at all. It’s there to provide beautiful, beautiful umami. One of the best & most unique sardine tins that I’ve ever had in my life.

I’m not sure this tin is for everyone, but I really liked it. There are two things that I was thinking while eating this: (1) after regularly eating tinned fish, the flavor of the liver and pork makes this a welcome diversion and (2) the flavor of the liver permeated almost every single bite, but not distractingly so. The fish was decent quality. Some slight skin imperfections and I couldn’t get the fish out whole. The sausage is packed underneath the fish and really flavors the oil. The fish were quite firm, but not dry. For the most part, I was scooping up bits of sausage onto the fish for individual bites. But the best was saved for last. The final sardine had a piece of sausage the exact length of the fish embedded into the underside. Like it was perfectly designed for consumption. If every sardine in the tin was like that, it’d be perfect. But alas, it was not so. Still, very enjoyable.

Five nice sardines on a thin slice of sausage in a reddish fairly thick oil/sauce…
The fish are firm with a nice chew and great fish flavor…the sausage is also quite good, not too strong, and the liver aspect of this is surprisingly subtle…all immersed in the full flavored sauce. There is even just a faint hint of garlic…thank you Ferrigno! All the flavors meld together deliciously. This is a very satisfying and filling tin. I ate this straight out of the tin with some crackers because I am a heathen, but it deserves more…topped over some lightly buttered artisan bread and washed down with a crisp, Rose wine would be excellent. Will purchase again.

Definitely a different tin! A fun one at a good value if you’re trying to mix things up. Three large firm sardines over thinly sliced sausage/liver. Very savory in a different way than vinegar or citrus forward flavors. Would recommend this tin for brave adventurers.

This has got to be one of the most unique tins I’ve had the pleasure of sampling! If it wasn’t for the prior reviews posted I would have not even considered giving this a second glance, however y’all said enough good things to get me intrigued and place it in my order.
Cracking the tin I was presented with the familiar sardine aroma with something a little different, I’m guessing garlic and sausage. Got four rustic-looking fellows packed in quite nicely. I toasted up some multigrain sourdough toast because I figured it would go good with this particular tin (I was not wrong). Texture of the sardines was a medium firmness and I received two long pieces of sausage in the the bottom of the tin, which I placed over two of the fish. WOW the two flavors really complement each other! The essence of the pork/liver sausage permeated the fillets.
This was one of the more interesting tins that I’ve had in my tinned seafood journey and I will have one of two of these in my pantry if I ever need to have something this unique (but excellent) in the future.
