2.5 stars, rounding down because I really expected so much more. I … don’t get what is happening here. I love squid. I love Ferrigno. I didn’t even eat this room temp from the can (like I do with most tins), instead I warmed this can up in very hot water for 5 minutes or so. I put the contents of this over some rice, I was very excited. Giddy, even.
But, yeah. I don’t know how else to describe this except it was like … eating a cut up veggie hot dog in mole sauce. The squid pieces were absolutely the oddest texture, they didn’t come across as squid -or even seafood- in any way. The pieces themselves didn’t seem to have any flavor but at least the sauce did! I’ve not had Provencal sauce to the best of my knowledge so I can’t say if this was a perfect one … it did taste pretty good, but it didn’t necessarily take the squid to the next level for me.
Perhaps this would have been better over pasta? Or on bread as recommended in the description? Either way, this one really wasn’t for me. I would point you to *any* other Ferrigno tin instead.

this is an interesting one!
the sauce is very tasty, but the consistency of the squid pieces themselves is definitely not what i would’ve expected squid to have. it has a weird bounciness to it, and it’s much softer than regular squid, but i’m not mad at it. i like it enough for the price point that i would get it again!
i had this heated up with pasta, and it was tasty regardless. but if texture is a big issue for you, i would caution you in trying this because it might be a little too weird. 3.5 stars for me!
