    There were two and half fillets in the tin that came out easily and still had a little bit of the skin intact with a few stray pin bones still included. The texture was firm with a nice chew to it and the two whole fillets were nice and moist while the single half fillet was a bit on the dry side. The flavor was one of the stronger mackerels that I have tried, about on par with sardines on the fishy index. It was a bit light on the salt, but oddly enough the fish tasted saltier than the oil. Often it is the opposite. These would hold up nicely to a gentle cooking or divided into even pieces for a salad. You might want to rub the skin off as it is it roughed up and not very attractive. The strong flavor would pair well with some stronger spices or a lot of garlic.

    Pretty decent can of mackerel, love the color of the fish. Very mild tasting, excellent olive oil as well that does great getting soaked up by a nice baguet. Ferrigno is such an interesting brand, lots of flavor to choose from, overall you cant go wrong with a can of fish in olive oil.
