This was one of my first pâté I’ve ever had and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve had a lot of tuna though, so I thought this would be a good one to start with. Opening the tin, my immediate first thought was cat food only because of the small tin size and how the pâté looks. However, there’s no strong smells or anything like that, so it was only a visual thing for me.
I quickly overcame this and spread it on toast. I loved the texture of this pâté, it’s luscious and feels very luxurious. It’s fluffy and feels fancy and was easy to spread. There’s also a lot of it and it’s a very rich. Flavor wise, I didn’t love it. I’m not quite sure what about the flavor I didn’t like but there was something quite strong about that I didn’t like. It didn’t taste like any tuna I’ve had before and it was just so rich, I wasn’t excited to continue eating it. I’m happy I tried it, and I’ll try other pâté but I won’t be buying this specific one again.

Gueyu Mar tins are delicious but definitely not always the most affordable, so the pate tins are a happy compromise I was excited to try! Out of all three (bluefin, sardine, and albacore), the albacore was the favorite. It had a fluffy texture that made spreading it on sourdough and crackers so delicious. I dressed it up with a little lemon squeeze and some green onions and it made a perfect snack and offering to friends, who also thought it was a big hit!
