    Really excellent, enjoyed this warmed up over rice and didn’t add a thing (although a little wasabi would have been nice in hindsight). The sauce is balanced and has some depth to it. The mackerel is pretty moist compared to most canned mackerel, you didn’t get the “is this dry tuna” vibe at all. I did notice a crunchy spine or two (in a good way) and in my experience, I don’t think it gets much better than this for texture of canned mackerel.

    Compares nicely against the Nissui mackerel in miso, they are both worth the money … it tastes exactly as I’d hoped it would and at this price, it’s an absolute steal.

    Very pleasent miso taste! Very good texture, I enjoyed this tin with some warm sticky rice and some brocolli!

    Tastes great over warm rice, no additional prep needed. The miso flavor was slightly sweet, with the fish adding a savory flavor. The fish was firm, perhaps a bit less flaky than other mackerel I’ve eaten, but the texture paired well with the rice. Would probably not eat it alone, although it would go lovely with Japanese pickled vegetables. For this price, you can make a very cheap, satisfying meal.

    Made an awesome meal over sushi rice with sliced up scallions, steamed asparagus, and a little salt. The fish was good and the convenience of the yummy sauce is wonderful. Definitely going to be a repeat purchase!
