Ingredients: Mackerel (Scomber japonicus), (70.8%), Curry Sauce (Rapeseed oil, water, vinegar, salt, modifed starch, mustard, lemon juice, antioxidant (E385), and chilli extract, curry and ground chilli)(28.2%), and Salt (1%).

    The curry sauce is truly great, the star of the show. The depth, spice, seasoning is fantastic and the sauce is thick enough to easily coat each bite. It’s hard to imagine a tinned curry sauce that’s better than this one, quite honestly! The mackerel itself is on the dry & firm side, but you don’t notice it as much because of the abundance of that spectacular sauce. I’d call the fillet texture a 4 out of 5 (where 5 is very firm) and moisture as a 4 out of 5 as well (where 5 is quite dry). It’s not chewy like Patagonia, it’s not flaky – it’s more the type of mackerel that shreds upon chewing. I ate it straight from the tin at room temp and really enjoyed the experience overall. If you warm this up, pour it over rice without wasting a single drop of that sauce then you will certainly have great time. The price is high but if you are a big fan of curry sauce … you absolutely MUST try this tin.
