In the US the fight over which mayo is the best for a tomato sandwich rages between Hellman’s and Duke’s. But the truth is that the best mayonnaise in the world is made in Japan. Yes, it does have a bit of MSG, but it has no high fructose corn syrup. What makes it the best? Only yolks used, and a unique blend of vinegars. This is one of only a small handful of food products our house is never without, indeed, is never without one in the fridge and two as back-up, becauseĀ  we wouldn’t even risk being out of it.
