They're something amazing! We are also home to the largest selection of canned fish in the world.

8-22 sprats (brisling sardines) hand-packed with Spanish olive oil and red bell peppers, garlic, rosemary and hot chili. These are not so spicy that you need to worry about the heat, they’ve just got a little bit of zip to let you know you’re eating something really good. It’s our own preference that any tinned product with tomatoes (and/or onions) is best served at least slightly warmed. While these can be eaten straight from the tin, or with crackers or toasted bread, our favorite way to consume them is tossed with freshly cooked wide egg noodles, the heat from which will make everything taste better.

These KO tins are really cementing my new bias towards sprats. These are rich little morsels that are just as nice to look at as they are to eat. The seasoning blend is a great addition, especially since these seem to be a bit more on the oily side (yes I know they’re in oil, but its more about that oily film left behind in my mouth). Some sweetness from the red pepper, a little herbaceous from the rosemary, a touch of tasty garlic stank, and the smallest kiss of chili to keep you on your toes. I can see myself enjoying these again on an an open faced everything bagel with whipped chive cream cheese. Perfect for a first timer.
