This was very challenging. The preparation was clean, fresh, and appetizing. The cider vinegar was very, very strong, and too much for my and my Club Crackers to mollify.
The over all effect was of a pickled herring offering, but with a very strong vinegary kick.
I have a second jar in my stash. I’m thinking of ways to use it as an ingredient in a seafood dip recipe in order to tone down the vinegar punch. In lieu of that, I’d recommend a strong bread like a rye or a pumpernickel, butter, salt, and add sparingly for a strong snack.
