It is at the beginning of spring that sardines appear on the Breton coast. We do not have our own fleet but we work with the Concarnois purse seiners in order to respect the freshness of the fish.
These sardines are covered with extra virgin olive oil, first cold pressing, renowned and recognized for its superior quality and for its dietetic virtues.

Plump pieces of fish. Pretty fatty, with nothing special going on in the flavor. Ate on fresh bread with pickled red onions. Certainly nothing wrong with them, just nothing too exciting either. I much prefer the Les Mouettes d’Arvor Sardines in EVOO w/ Lemon Confit and Chili Pepper from this brand which I think are FANTASTIC!!

At this price point, not outstanding. The oil doesn’t contribute much flavor. By the time you add enough condiments & accompaniments to make up for the blandness, you might as well have chosen a lower-priced tin.
I’ve not been blown away by the French sardines I’ve essayed. Anyone have a candidate to rock me?
