these brislings were very good. the flavor was just right and I did not have to use any condiments to help them along. Adding these to a salad would be nice, or maybe buttered pasta. Oceans produces some excellent products. I will be buying these again.

Another win for Ocean’s, this is such an easy tin to like. A definite upgrade tin for people who appreciate King Oscar Mediterranean sardines. While this may not have the fix’ins of the KO tin, it has much more flavor and a better texture. You don’t have to lean hard into the olives in order to get the Mediterranean flavor, the herbaceousness has penetrated all the way through the fish in exactly the right amount. If you enjoy oregano/basil/thyme flavor with your sardines, boy is this tin for you.

Quality of fish & texture was identical to the regular Ocean’s sardine tin, which means you get beautifully shimmery fillets with zero scales/blemishes. Texture was soft but not mushy. It’s super easy to eat these straight from the tin at room temp. While I would have loved more olives and red pepper bits in the bottom of the tin, honestly I’m not that upset because the flavor hit so nicely even without them. I like these just as much as the Ferrigno à la Tapenade tin and that’s really saying something (especially considering these cost less than Ferrigno). Time for me to try more products from Ocean’s!

I was a little underwhelmed by this tin. The smaller sized fish didn’t hold together very well and I didn’t get any strong Mediterranean flavor. The oil wouldn’t be worth saving to use for anything either. I tried some with an egg and toast and then a few with salty potato chips. The salt helped a bit, but overall I much prefer the King Oscar Mediterranean offering.

Good quality fish in this tin. However, I could not pick any of them up without them breaking apart, and despite seeing a lot of seasoning and some olive and red pepper in the remaining oil, none of the flavor seemed to have made it into the fish. Ended up eating these on a cracker with pickled onions. No regrets, but I think the King Oscars edge these out solely on price point.
