Olasagasti Atun Claro (Yellowfin Tuna) in Olive Oil


The secret ingredient: The Cantabrian Sea.  Olasagasti has spent the past 125 years devoted to making traditionally-prepared canned fish.

In Hawaii, “ahi” (ahi tuna is redundant) refers to two species, the yellowfin tuna and the bigeye tuna. To the best of our knowledge, no one is doing bigeye conservas, but there are many tinned versions of yellowfin.

    My first time eating this I noted it as something I wanted to buy again. The second time now, I feel it is a solid tuna, but not too remarkable. Nothing bad to say about it, but I would prefer the Olasagasti Bonito Del Norte in EVOO o José Gourmet Tuna Fillets in Olive Oil for something in this price range.
