I just had this tin over rice for an easy dinner and I’m not sure how I feel about it. First off, I’ve never microwaved tuna or any fish before, so it felt quite strange! I did it for less than a minute and that was good enough for me. The portion was filling and I think there was two pieces of tuna in the tin. It wasn’t the most attractive looking tuna but there seemed to be a good assortment of the other additions, which was appealing. Taste wise, it had pretty good flavor and the tuna was mild… But very dry. Combined all together with the rice, it overall was okay, nothing special. The convenience factor is definitely there but everything else about this tin just whelmed me and I don’t think I would get it again at this price.

I put this straight into a bowl and flaked the fish a bit with a fork to make smaller bites. I ate it with water crackers. It was a perfect and EASY evening snack. I went in blind, because I couldn’t really tell what the ingredients were aside from the tuna and the white beans. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a fresh and meaty taste. I’ll definitely be getting this again!

My wife and I had this this morning. I cracked the can open just a smidgen to keep pressure from building up and put it in a simmering water bath for about 5 minutes. I removed it and portioned it out for my wife and I. With rice, this would make a great in-between meal (11sies or second breakfast). As it was, I found the flavors quite delightful. The white bean stew is compromised of white beans, carrot, potato and green pepper. The tuna was nice and flaky without being dry. Flavors were great. 5/5 on my part, I’ll be ordering another tin.

I heated the unopened tin in a bowl of boiling water for about 10 min and then served over piping hot rice. I was a little worried that the beans and vegetables would just be mush because of the canning process, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the textures were as if I had made this bean stew fresh. The light flavor of the stew reminded me a bit of chicken soup with beans instead of chicken and it perfectly complemented the two generous portions of tuna that were in the tin. The tuna was a little dry when eaten alone, but a mouthful of tuna with the stew and rice was just delightful. This tin with rice made a great breakfast that was filling, but didn’t leave me feeling heavy. If I were to eat this again I might add yuzu kosho to brighten it up with some acid and add a little kick of heat. With the slightly higher price I’m not sure if I’d reorder this, but I’d say it is definitely worth trying at least once
