Ortiz Bonito del Norte in Olive Oil

$8.50$23.00

The famous flavor of white tuna is perfectly complemented by olive oil. One of the true classics of the industry, for many Ortiz is the standard against which all others are judged. And for good reason. You’re unlikely to find a better quality to dollar ratio anywhere.

Choose from the 250g round with re-close-able lid, the classic 112g oval, or, for smaller appetites, the 92g round.

Wholeheartedly recommend this tuna! It’s a clean flavor with what I found to be a more supple texture than the fare you’d find in common grocery stores (probably from the fat content). I see piles more of this can in my future. Normally I’d enjoy tuna over rice but I ate a good amount of this before it even made it to my plate…

This is the best tin of tuna I’ve had. Haven’t had many but this one was perfect. Ate right out of the tin, added generous amount of black pepper, paprika, and couple splashes of red wine vinegar. What a healthy carb conscious snack that feels like a treat!

This is the best tuna I have yet to try! Honestly I didn’t know there were things in the market beyond chicken of the sea. I’m so glad my horizons were broadened.

I’d expect that tuna aficionados will be absolutely blown away by this product. I enjoyed the tin straight from the tin (at room temp) but wouldn’t necessarily say that it was ideal as it is still pretty mildly flavored. Was hoping for a little bit more of a luxurious bite out of this price point. The moisture and texture is a step up over almost other canned tuna that I’ve tried but it falls into a tricky spot of being too good/expensive to use for applications like tuna salad but also not quite impressive enough to recommend eating on its own. Maybe this is perfect for a fancy tuna melt? At any rate, after the fish was gone, I found myself enjoying up some of the oil with mini-toasts and flaky salt. While I probably won’t rebuy this for myself, I’m glad I tried this and will happily recommend it to anyone who truly loves canned tuna.

Whoa!! My husband and I were blown away by this tuna. So much so that he told me he was thinking about it the next day! I will definitely repurchase this tuna because it’s super high quality. The higher price point definitely makes sense here.

A great can of tuna in olive oil. There’s some good rich flavor from the fish and not too much else. The texture is a bit mealier than I expected, but otherwise, it’s tuna. I paired this with a salad, which worked well. A simple review for a simple tin.

delicious. light, clean, hint of salt. packed tin. olive oil is delicious.

used as a garden salad protein addition with lime vinaigrette/fresh dill.

    tops!

The 92g round is densely packed though still easy to break up with a spoon. Rather than drain it I added more olive oil (Graza Drizzle if you can get some), seasoned with salt and pepper, and, due to the clean and robust tuna flavor, I was ready to go. I scooped it with tortilla chips for an excellent afternoon snack. I happened to have a soft washed-rind cheese on hand and it made for a delightful pairing.
