A decent tin of mussels for the price, the sofrito flavor doesn’t really add to the experience of the mussels themselves.

Brilliant tin. Patagonia mussel quality is top notch and this is no exception. The tin is jam-packed with texturally perfect mussels and a *ton* of peppers and onions. I am super content to eat these at room temp out of the can, adding just a few flakes of Maldon salt. The sofrito & broth are mild, letting the mussels shine though while still being worthy of eating on their own. Another added Patagonia benefit is that the broth makes these feel a lot lighter, healthier than mussels in oil only.

For me personally, the lemon Patagonia tin still reigns supreme in the world of mussels but these are pretty close. I like them just as much as the delicious regular Patagonia mussels (4.5 stars) and these will especially appeal to people who enjoy lots of visible add-ins to add to each bite. Absolutely a great tin that I’ll get occasionally when I burn out on the lemon version … buy, buy, buy.

These were gorgeous. My first tin ever of mussels! The richness of the broth paired with the large amount of small pepper and onion pieces pushed an otherwise delicious tin of mussels over the top. The mussels themselves were soft, texturally perfect, had a subtle flavor, and weren’t overpowered by the sofrito mixture. I had these on a board with crostini, pesto butter, red onion, lemon and espinaler sauce. The hot sauce realllly brightened up the rich mussels & broth. Would absolutely buy again.

Fantastic product!!! I eat it straight on buttered bread, but I’m really excited to try it next time in pasta. The flavor is really fantastic – restaurant quality. And the texture of the mussels is not weird (chewy, sandy, etc.) at all as I feel that mussels can sometimes be. I’ve bought these a couple times before and will continue to buy them as my #1 mussel tin to date 🙂

Patagonia mussels are very tasty. I enjoyed these with some potato chips as they are often served in Spain. I have to say, the sofrito flavor was a bit lacking in comparison to the other Patagonia mussels I’ve tried- it didn’t detract from the mussels, but didn’t add too much either.

Super amazed how characteristic this can of mussels is! They sit in a very soupy broth, more soupy than any other tin I’ve tried thus far but it’s the amount of veggies they stuff in there put this over the top for me. Patagonia’s mussels taste really clean and I’m excited to pick up more of these for my DIY MREs!

With everything these were packed with it’s almost a little single serve mussel soup which was a pleasant surprise. The taste and texture were both fantastic and I really loved the broth they were packed in. Fantastic product.

These mussels we’re all in all delicious. I ate them with some potato chips, and found the mussels themselves to be great, however the sofrito could’ve been more flavorful and wished I had more mussels in this tin. A good snack, but probably won’t be returning to these.

I just got this tin in my first mystery box! This is actually my first time having tinned mussels. I’ve had mussels before and wasn’t sure if I was going to love them. My intent was to eat them with bread and a bean dish my girlfriend was heating for dinner. However when I opened the tin, the mussels and peppers in the oil looked really inviting. The colors are beautiful together, so I dove into the tin and just didn’t stop. I ate the whole tin before the bread was warm and poured the remaining oil and peppers into a bowl to dip the bread in. Big win. Would absolutely buy this tin again.

Tried these Patagonia sofrito mussels for the first time and while I will not say that they were disappointing, I have to admit that this flavor profile was not for me.
The contents of the tin looked and smelled so good and after tasting a mussel straight from the tin, all I got was beans :). I love beans, but this felt a bit overpowering and I was craving a bit more of the ‘sea vibe’. I tried these with a plain potato chip then a chip with cream cheese and sriracha, but neither worked for me. What finally worked for me was first adding lime juice to the mussels, then serving on a potato chip with Kewpie mayo, homemade pickled red onions and sriracha.
I am glad that I got to try these though and don’t regret buying them at all.
