Beautiful, amazing mussels in a tangy, balanced liquid that is impossible not to drink afterwards. They are absolutely massive and not grainy in the least, consistent medium-soft texture all the way through. If you put these on mini-toasts (to soak up some extra liquid) and sprinkle just a tiny bit of flaky salt on top, there’s basically nothing better. When the mussels are all gone, put a few more mini-toasts in there to get the rest of the liquid and you’ll be loving life.
No way around it – these are not a budget tin, but wow …. wow, are they worth it. I’ve got these atop my mussel rankings, followed closely by Güeyu Mar chargrilled medium and Ramón Peña garlic & chili pepper. Treat yourself, you DESERVE these.
