Sardinha Sardines in Olive Oil with Oregano

$8.00

We’re big fans of all of the herbal flavors, and find that oregano is among our favorites. Adds just that note of grassiness that sometimes seems lacking.

Big. Fantastic. Meaty. Flavorful. I definitely love what Sardinha does here, there is enough oregano flavor to add intrigue but not too much to where you lose sight of the sardine. Texturally perfect, medium chew that is consistent all the way through each fillet, great moisture that also holds up to removing with chopsticks. I do wish this was a few dollars cheaper though, as it’s otherwise a real contender in the discussion of “top 5 large sardines” for me. But while it’s not in the daily-driver price range, it’s worth it as an occasional splurge for sure.

Enjoyed these just as much as the Sardinha lightly smoked sardines and the Sardinha sardines in escabeche … and that’s a very, very good place to be. I’ll be happy to reorder these again and definitely recommend.

I enjoyed the flavoring in this one. Solid tin and a nice way to change it up. I would probably get these again at some point.

I used to be a strictly skinless/boneless fan, but this tin changed my mind! 3 huge sardines that don’t break apart when transferred from the tin. The skin is beautiful and almost undetectable when eating. I didn’t notice a single bone either. The oregano flavor makes these moist, thick dines pair wonderfully with any Mediterranean flavors. Will buy again!

This was my first time trying a Sardinha product. I also purchased the tin with curry, which I haven’t cracked open yet. The seasoning itself was beautifully done. The olive oil was smooth and not watery, and the oregano helped bring out the taste of the sardines. They were not at all fishy, and they were quite firm and meaty. The only critique I have is that my tin somehow contained scales. They were edible, of course, but they distracted a bit from an otherwise solid tin. I think my tin might have been an outlier, though. Judging by the other reviews, this is not a common occurrence.
