Opened this treat after reading lots about it online. Great texture on the octopus, meaty without being too chewy. The flavor was unique, very buttery and very dill forward. The lemon was less present. Definitely a unique one to try as a special treat.

I ate this with a few other tins of fish with friends, and I had a REALLY hard time sharing after trying it. The texture of the octopus is like no octopus I’ve had before; it is perfectly tender, and the smaller pieces were not chewy at all. The can looks small, but they really manage to pack much more octopus in there than I was expecting. The sauce was creamy and had wonderful flavor, and I ate it straight out of the can.

It’s definitely one of the pricier cans I’ve gotten, but I’d be happy to pay that much for it at a restaurant, and it is definitely a restaurant quality dish straight out of the can.

That and the packaging is adorable and I will be hanging it up in my house somewhere.

Delicious and incredibly flavorful! The octopus itself was tender, although the can was made up of primarily smaller pieces with only one really meaty-sized chunk, but the texture was perfect. The sauce here feels like the real surprise — it was super flavorful and rich without feeling heavy. I heated it up slightly and ate it over rice, meaning that after I finished the octopus itself the rice left in my bowl was coated in the delicious buttery fish-infused oil. Would’ve been enhanced even more with a squeeze of fresh lemon but alas I did not have one on hand.

Next time, I think I’d opt to enjoy this can on a piece of toast instead so the smaller pieces of octopus don’t get quite so lost in the rice, but it was very tasty none the less.

The flavor on this one was a bit strong for me, even after heating it up, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this tinned octopus had fatty pieces and wasn’t as chewy as the tinned octopus I am used to eating. I feel like this would be pretty good with some rice, avocado and a fresh lemon squeeze, but I just ate it from the tin as is. The packaging is honestly my favorite thing about this tin, because of how adorable and colorful it is. It’s very visually appealing and even had a fish pun on it which was fun to see as I was opening the package for the tin.

Absolutely delicious. The lemon/dill butter this is in is probably the tastiest tin juice I’ve experienced. I warmed the can for a few minutes in a “keep warm” oven, seared the octopus chunks in a pan, and tossed them back in the tin for serving. The meat has a nice chew to it without being chewy and a pleasant, mild flavor. I think it’s a more interesting flavor than the squid I got with this order. I will probably get this again as a treat or as a gift for someone.

Decided to give this a try as I love octopus and had heard good things about this tin. The octopus had a great texture and you get a good bite on all the pieces. The butter/dill/lemon sauce was really tasty and complemented the octopus well. I served this over some risotto which was a good call IMO, the rice soaked up the sauce really well and it ended up being a really well rounded lunch. Obviously at 17 quid a tin this isn’t something I could purchase all the time but I do appreciate that they do pack as much meat as they can in these cans, and the quality really is there
