The Luças mackerel in mustard were pretty good. The quality of fish was great, firm but not too firm, and nice and flaky. Mustard is great with a lot of tinned fish, and getting it already in the can is a nice touch.

The mustard oil itself was pretty good. It was more of a semi-sweet Dijon, which pairs well with the lightness of the fish. I wish it was a tad thicker, as it wanted to fall off of the filets when I pulled them from the can.

I’d buy these again, and would recommend them to mustard enjoyers out there!

Solid tin that had firm (borderline very firm) without being dry. Impressive that it didn’t induce hiccups at this level of firmness! It didn’t have the Patagonia mackerel chew and instead had a pleasant flake. I would have loved more mustard punch and more seasoning/salt overall – this is a thin, whispy mustard sauce with light flavor. Can’t really compare this to the almighty GOAT mustard herring from Rügen Fisch and I think most mustard lovers will find themselves adding some extra. I did enjoy this tin overall and would say this is best suited to mackerel aficionados looking to mix up their stash with something fancy/unique … for that, this hits the spot.
