Mackerel fans rejoice, this is a fun splurge. Texturally dense in a pleasing way without any weird chew. Moisture levels are very good especially considering the density, this is kind magical to be able to pull this combination off. Not even a hint of hiccups when eating this straight from the tin. Seasoning was fine and just slightly less than I prefer. As for the lemon? It’s just a hint. Those of us who love tons of lemon are not going to notice anything but a tiny increase in acidity. I loved the thick slice of lemon in the tin but wished they gave me more than just a half moon.
The tin is absolutely worth a try especially if you like your mackerel to be a little more dense on the chew because you won’t have to sacrifice moisture to get it. Very impressive balance, Minerva.
