The only spicy vintage sardine we’re aware of, which makes it automatically the best, right? All kidding aside, this is a wicked good tin of spicy sardines. Vintage 2020 so they’re ready to eat now, but these tinned sardines will improve over the coming years.

Ingredients: sardines (Sardina pilchardus), olive oil, red pepper and salt.

    So good. We pulled these out before going out with some friends for the night (risky move, I know). Friends weren’t very familiar with tinned sardines beyond what can be found at a typical grocery store– I think these were a pleasant surprise! Though packed in oil, the meat itself isn’t oily. There’s a lot of meat, too, and the fish held together beautifully. We ate them straight out of the tin. The flavor of the fish and the amount of spice struck an absolutely perfect balance. I’ll be ordering these again to share… along with an extra, just for me.
