Riga Gold

Not all Eastern European sprats are created equal, though you might not know it from a casual glance at the names. “Riga” appears in many names but there is only one “Riga Gold”. The capital of Latvia is Riga, a port city through which most of the world’s sprats pass. Putting the word into a product name or description is roughly equivalent to saying Maine lobster or Alaskan salmon, it is not an absolute designation of quality. Riga Gold is the premier brand of the company GAMMA-A, the largest producer of canned fish in the Baltic states, and the largest manufacturer of sprats in the world.
