An excellent introduction tin to Berthe, these are clearly high quality fillets that are mild and delicious. I don’t eat many boneless tins but this is top notch in the class – skin on, flaky above average texture, above average moisture. I was surprised to get 3 little slices of green olive as well. Salt levels are lower than usual but that’s easy to address. If Berthe can pull off boneless sardines this nicely, then I certainly am excited to try more tins from the brand. Recommend.

What an interesting and unique tin this turned out to be! Received a total of four fillets in lightly-colored olive oil. These had a different appearance from the typical boneless/skinless sardines – the fillets were more flattened and also have the skin. Texture was fairly soft and flaked apart easily on my usual toast. Seasoning was wonderful too – not too salty and the green olive slices added a bit of zing.
I would have no problem recommending this tin to anyone who wants to try sardines but is nervous about bones.
