Don Gastronom (La Narval) Yellowfin Tuna Loin in Olive Oil

$13.50

The terminology of tuna is confusing, it isn’t just you. Yellowfin is also called Atun Claro and is one of two tunas (skipjack being the other) sometimes and in some places referred to as “light tuna”. A little meatier, a little more mineraly, than albacore, and a bit different in the chew. We enjoy both equally, depending only on mood.

I will admit that I ate half of this tin, right out of the tin, instead of putting it into a sandwich like I had planned. The meaty texture was just so good, and it really held up well when it actually made it into the sandwich!

Great quality when you want a spruced up tuna sandwich! Made a tuna melt with the can, great, thick texture!

Tried this tonight in a quick stew of tomatoes, tuna, and Moroccan spices. It was so good fresh from the can (nice texture, fishy but not overly so, rich) that I kept picking pieces out of the pan.

Don Gastronom Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil has a delicate flavor and tender texture, enhanced by the light olive oil and seasoning. I used it in a pasta dish, and it blended beautifully with the other ingredients, adding a subtle richness. The tuna’s quality really stood out, making the meal feel more refined and flavorful.
