Really glad that this exists. Had no idea that I needed sardines and mussels in a single bite, but it turns out that it’s darn amazing and it really gave extra depth of flavor to combine them. The squid is very good as well but it was the clear third wheel for me that I ate on its own (and still enjoyed). Quality was high for all of the seafood; the sardines had great balance of moisture/firmness with excellent texture overall. Flavor profile was relatively neutral but did not lack depth or nuance. The tin could easily be purposed in any direction/recipe that you wanted to take it. While I ate mine at room temp from the tin, these would be absolutely *fantastic* over pasta … and that’s probably how I’m going to eat them next time. This is an easy 4+ star tin on its own and definitely recommended.

Ferrigno continues to deliver a high quality product in my estimation. Sure, you’re not getting the best in class when you’ve got 3 seafoods packed into one tin. But everything was better quality than I might have expected. The sardines looked a bit beat up (to be expected in a tin packed with several different types of seafood), but were pretty good on their own. Most were missing a fair bit of skin, but the flesh was tasty. The firmness was just slightly on the dry side, but only slightly. Still better than about 50% of the other sardines I’ve had. The mussels are delicious, great flavor and nice, meaty texture. Not too moist nor dry. I hoped for a little more from the squid on it’s own. It tasted nice, but I felt like it was missing just a little something. I tossed my last portion of squid on a potato chip and really enjoyed it. Maybe the squid needs a bit more seasoning than the other fish? For experimentations sake, a bite with all three is simply too much information to parse out what is going on. The squid doesn’t benefit a lot from either of the others. The mussels and sardine were pretty good together. However, I most enjoyed just feeling decadent and eating the three each on their own. The aromatics help impart an extra depth of flavor, though I’m not familiar enough with the mentioned Piment d’Espelette to know if I could pick out that flavor. Overall, this is a pretty great tin for the price. I can see keeping one of these on hand for when the mood strikes (that of wanting “all the seafoods” but not wanting to compromise).

Delicious as a snack on its own. I liked the squid most of all. The sardines and oysters were also tasty, but fell apart easily. The seasoned oil is also worth re-using.

the sardines in this one is really good!

i’ll be honest and say i’ve been very hesitant to branch outside of shellfish/mollusks/mackerel/trout in my tinned fish journey, but trying the sardines out in this tin has made me very receptive to trying out sardines by themselves next. the sauce is very good; i ate this in a pasta! but the taste itself is very nice and flavorful, so i think i’ll like eating more sardines next!

the mussels disappeared for me in this can, perhaps because i cooked my pasta too vigorously, but the squid was good as well. i will say it has the same consistency as the squid from the other ferrigno tin i had, which may or may not be a good thing depending on how much you like soft texture/chew in your squid.

    overall, 4 stars for taste.

Bought this tin as a cover to try tinned squid knowing I would at least like the mussels and sardines. I was pleased to discover it was tasty and a texture I had. It experienced with squid – much more meaty and not at all chewy. The spiced oil was delicious and complemented the seafoods well. I felt the sardines a bit dry and looked a little rough b it they were firm and meaty. I served over rice and added some capers for some additionally briny flavor that I felt balanced the tin well. I would happily consume this tin again and I can now look forward to further tinned squid endeavors!

This is an ideal tin for lunch to eat right out of the tin. Fun to have a little variety. Great flavor and presented very nicely. Awesome price, easy addition to the rotation going forward.

This tin immediately rose to the top of the hoard. How many drinks were behind the idea to make a blue plate combo tin? Popped the top to a muted scent and a nice orderly arrangement of three deens, six mussels, and five chunks of squid in the melange of oil, onions, peppers, and herbs. The fish were a bit roughed up but were delicious. Moist yet toothsome and gently flavored from the veg, herbs, & oil. The mussels were a bit chewier than others that I have tried, and in my opinion were better for it. Lastly, there was the squiddy bits. For me, these were the stars. Brightly flavored with just a bit of chew and they reminded me a bit like scallops. The oil was well flavored and chunky from the onions and peppers and was spread over some toast to finish off the tin. I really liked this one and the variety made for an enjoyable eating experience switching from one to another. I did add a squeeze of lemon over all three to punch it up. Give them a try if you can.

Lazy? Crazy? Convenient, relatively cheap and healthful, we eat sardines several days a week for lunch or as an appetizer with wine for weekend dinners. Yet, there are times when even we get a little bored with them. This clever mix by Ferrigno is a great way to punctuate sameness and remind us that sardines aren’t the only yummy seafood in cans. We love these, but the ‘deens themselves are obviously not Nuri-level perfection.

Ok this was absolutely frackin fantastic. Mixed seafood tin with sardines, mussels, and squid all in one tin with EVOO and herbs/aromatics. I dumped the whole tin contents, oil and all, into a pan along with one of those yummy garlic sauce cups leftover from a pizza night. Warmed it all up in the pan with some spinach on top to wilt a little. Had spinach n cheese ravioli served on top of the spinach, topped with the seafood and poured all the garlic sauce oil mixture over top. Simple, quick, and fracking incredible. Definitely would order this again and definitely can recommend pairing with pasta. I think it would be a shame to eat this tin plain, but would certainly still be good.

Wowza this was so good. Homemade sourdough, crème fraiche, avocado, this tin, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions. Seasoned. Out of this world. I would recommend topping whatever you’re adding this tin to with all of the remaining oil as it is well seasoned and delicious. Will be ordering this again.

Man, I loved this tin. Had an alfredo pasta with it and split the tin with my brother. I was a fan of all three featured types of seafood, my brother’s favorite was the mussels. Will definitely be ordering this again in the future, it made a $5 pasta taste luxurious.

A new favorite tin! This has 3 sardines and a hearty amount of mussels and squid. The oil and aromatics were flavorful without overpowering the seafood itself. I had with this with a bowl of fresh pasta and honestly nothing else was needed. This is a pricer tin from Ferrigno, but well, well worth it in my opinion.

I love this tin! The seafood is high quality and very tasty! The sardines were nice and firm and the mussels were tender. The calamari was my first try at tinned cephalopod and I really enjoyed it! I’ll definitely add this to my usual rotation, I really like that it’s a three in one sort of situation.

I was hoping to like this more but found it a little underwhelming. Nothing was really a standout in its category, although I suppose that should be expected when packing three types of products into one tin. Certainly nothing was bad, but the sardines were a little rough for wear, and the mussels lacked the tenderness I’d found with other tins and the flavor of the oil was a little too neutral. I did enjoy the squid a bit better, it had a nice bite to it without being too rubbery. Overall, this seems like a bit more of a novelty than a staple tin – cool for getting people to try tins other than sardines but not really highlighting strong offerings.

This was a really interesting tin! Perfect for those days when you’re undecided if you want sardines or mussels – so why not both (and throw some squid in there too). Cracking open the tin I was surprised to see how much they were able to pack in : 3 sardines, about six mussels and several pieces of squid. I wound up placing the tin contents unto a bed of wild rice and turned out to be a wonderful lunch.

  16. nrobinson (verified owner)

Sardines firm and flaky but not dry really nice texture. Squid and missels soft but not mushy. Slight sea or mussel forward taste throughout, pleasant, not strong. Overall flavor not super distinct. Interesting tin. Not a stunner, but cool and approachable. Would probably be really good mashed together like a pate over mustard. Might like to have one on hand for tin fish newbies.

This tin is great when I am indecisive or just want some easy variety. None of the seafood in here is top class but it is right there in the middle of quality, no where close to a disappointment. Also a great tin to break out to expand people’s tinned seafood tastes, easy to try a variety in one can at an affordable price.

This was an odd one. Enjoyed it overall but had some iffy moments. Cool idea though. I definitely wanted to enjoy it more than I did.
