Being a fish packed in water, it does not have the same level of flavor when compared to oil packed fish. This tin by itself is dry, quite tightly packed and takes effort to break apart and extract a small enough piece to be palatable. Really only useful as an ingredient for recipes and by the time enough other ingredients are added to provide sufficient moisture and flavor, for me the taste is lost amongst the other flavors and textures. I do however appreciate the fact that for health reasons this product is available, not overly salty and for those who need a plain protein devoid of any additives.
