5 fish in this tin. Pleasant aroma, not at all fishy. The fish were firm, meaty and quite sweet. I had hoped-for a more anise flavor. Still , for my taste, very good. This might be a good tin for first time sardine experience. I will purchase again.

Easily in my top 3 tins.
    And maybe my new favorite.
For context, I am a big fan of Ferrigno sardines and I’m a fennel fanatic and these exceeded my expectations.
The sardines are meaty, tender, and plentiful (with 5 in a tin). Plus, there is a nice amount of an almost jammy, pickly fennel which compliments the mild fishiness of the sardines nicely. Will be reordering more soon 🙂

Very pretty tin, I’m a huge fan of the design being on the bottom (for collecting) and a clever pun for a name. The tin was easy to open, and decently well packed with sardines, oil, and Fennel. However, upon trying to eat it (i had it over rice) I found the flavor to be quite lacking. It left the familiar very light numbing effect of Anise/Fennel. But, not much flavor overall. I couldn’t detect any Anise notes, and I found it just sat in my stomach a little weird. They also seemed to have an odd sweetness to them, and even the pieces of Fennel weren’t punching much. A squeeze of lemon and a pinch of salt helped lightly but, not sure I’ll buy this one again sadly. 4/10
