Beautiful fish, ideal texture and moisture. Felt clearly a notch above in quality over some of its Portuguese sardine peers. Compares nicely with the Minerva lemon sardine tin (would be a good candidate for a head-to-head tasting). The lemon was pleasant and mild but definitely enough to notice in both scent and flavor. Seasoning was good and didn’t have me reaching for flaky salt. Must say, this is extremely easy to enjoy straight from the tin at room temp. As my first tin that I’ve tried from Luças, I walked away quite happy and excited to dive into the other varieties.
