Delcious, firm sardines with a hint of curry. Sardine meat quality and size similar to Nuri. One drawback, quite a few scales.

Absolutely, absolutely unique. The curry flavor is quite noticeable in each bite … more than a hint, yet not overpowering at all. The outside of each sardine was much different than the inside, almost like it was shellacked but in such a way that it really made for an interesting textural contrast. It’s possible that the outside texture was due to scales (as mentioned by a previous reviewer), but I was too focused on the flavor & experience to investigate further. The variance in texture was unlike any other sardines I’ve had and I appreciated the difference. Moisture was solid overall and didn’t leave me wanting, overall quality was quite high.

I’m so happy that the curry flavor came through like it did, this is a very successful tin overall. I’ll be happy to get it again occasionally for a change of pace. If you love curry and/or love to eat flavored sardines as part of a larger meal (e.g. with rice, lentils, etc), then you should grab this unique tin immediately.

What a unique and delightful tin! 4 firm and intact fish inside swimming in a golden yellow oil. Removing the fish from the tin you see “clumps” of curry you can scoop onto your fish.

The curry flavor is prominent but not overpowering and complemented the sardine nicely. Fish was firm but moist and not overly fishy.

This is a fun and flavorful tin that I look forward to ordering again.

A very interesting tin! If you love curry you’ll love it. Sardines and curry is definitely a unique combination that I’ve not had before, but one that I found really tasty. I had this one straight from the tin with some lightly toasted Syrian pita bread and raw red onions, and it definitely hit the spot for breakfast.
This was part of a surprise me package that Dan made for me, and I’m glad it was, because I don’t think I would have bought it given the flavor and price. Not sure if I’ll order again, but I’m happy I got to experience it.

Very nice subtle curry flavor that is not at all overpowering. It actually comes across more in the nose than the taste itself. With the aroma of curry nicely backing up some beautiful large fish. I was curious about these but was surprised at how much I really love them

More subtle curry than the oceans mackerel korma curry, but the presence is just enough! This is a quality tin that you should definitely try if you are on the fence. Great balance of added flavor and price point!

This is the second Sardinha tin I’ve tried. I first tried the oregano sardines and although they were good, they weren’t my favorite. This tin, though? Absolute heaven. The fish are smaller than the ones in the other tin I tried. There were no scales, and the sardines weren’t fishy either — a very clean and savory taste. The star of the show was the curry seasoning. It was perfectly mixed with the olive oil, but it wasn’t so overpowering that you couldn’t taste the fish. I made some basmati rice and used the warmed-up oil on it, added a tiny bit of soy sauce, and topped it with the fish. This is a buy-again tin.

A bit unconventional but I enjoyed these curry sardines with bread. Honestly I think this tin would taste great with anything. Such good quality fish and such a pleasant curry flavor. I think it was such a nice change from the other tinned fish I usually get.

This was one of the more unique tins I’ve had the pleasure of trying in quite some time! Cracking open the lid i was pleasantly surprised to see that these were smaller sized pilchards, got a total of seven of the little fellas. The olive oil had a nice yellow tint – this was more of a curry-infused oil instead of a true sauce. The curry flavor was pronounced but not overpowering at all – it really went well with the sardines.
I’ll definitely add this to the rotation periodically for a nice change of pace.

There were 8 little fish in this tin, soaking in a turmeric yellow olive oil. The fish were firm, but not too firm – they were easily removed from the tin without falling apart. They had a very mild curry flavor that I haven’t had in any other tins. I’m not sure if I’d re-order them, but I am glad that I tried them.

Have been experimenting with some curried tins lately—Jose Gourmet and Ocean’s mackerel fillets in curry—and while I loved both tins, I’m often not in the mood for something so saucy during lunch. (Plus, both really benefit from being warmed which I don’t have the ability to do at work.) This tin, on the other hand, is packed in curried oil rather in actual sauce, which is a perfect compromise. The oil is much lighter than a thick sauce, while still maintaining a beautiful curry flavor, and the tender fish can be eaten straight out of the tin.
